The 5 Best Fitness Exercises for Children

Nowadays, it is important to get your kids up and moving. It is important not only for physical health but for mental and overall health as well. Doing exercises as children can help to increase test scores, as well as decrease chance of disease and illness in the future. While it is great for kids to get exercise in this way, it also can be very fun for them too. Let’s take a look at some of the best exercises/classes that kids can do or take.

  1. Any form of cardio: While this is very vague, it can relate to running around with their friends, or sibling, and can range all the way to going on long bike rides. One of the most fun ways to involve this is by making it a family event, and creating a habit from it. One idea that you could use is going on a hike every Sunday morning or going on a walk every Tuesday night/afternoon. Creating the habit not only sticks with children but also increases their chances of being active as adults.
  2. Tumbling: Tumbling classes, such as gymnastics, or a more general tumbling class have been shown to really push children to trust themselves and their bodies, as well as build a confidence and discipline that you can not find in many other places.
  3. Strength & Cardio Training: Anything involving both of these things, such as a light circuit training could be majorly helpful. You could set up a light circuit of stair climbers, jumping jacks and slalom jumps can be very beneficial to the well-being of your child.
  4. Open Gym Classes: Sending your children to open gym “classes” can be great in that they can “run around” and get exercise, while with friends, under the supervision of someone. You never have to worry that your child is unsafe, which is consistently a big thought that parents have when allowing their children outside of the home.
  5. Parkour: Parkour is an incredible workout for the mind and body. By combining skills learned in class to form progressions of movement, children learn how to think before they act, as well as learn to be disciplined, while also feeding their exploratory imagination.

These 5 kinds of classes are some of the best for your children, as it can help their overall health, as well as their confidence and behavior. Just remember to have them stretch out a little bit to avoid any injuries from happening!
